This week we started a new read aloud, Owls in the Family.  The family adopted an orphan owl.  It is funny!  There are many things that take place that we should NEVER do in real life!

We are learning about maps.    Maps are smaller than the actual area.  We drew maps.

Some children got their eyes tested by the nurse.

We have a new Author of the Month, Mo Willems.  We are reading a lot of his books!  Everybody in class can read his books by themselves!

This week we finished Charlotte's Web.  We watched the movie this week.

It was HOT and SUNNY most of the week.

We had our last 4 Winds.  We caught frogs, a baby turtle, tadpoles, salamanders, some exoskeletons of  crayfish.  Some of the salamanders were fighting and mating.  We found out salamanders eat tadpoles.

We are almost done with Charlottes's Web.  The family, Wilbur, Charlotte, and Templeton went to the fair. Wilbur won a ribbon and fainted on stage.

We started a new unit in math.  We are comparing lengths.

WE filled 7 buckets today!!!!

This week we are practicing our song about continents to perform for the school.

We are still reading Charlotte's Web .   The family is just leaving  for the fair.  The sheep convinced Templeton, the rat, to go to the fair.

We are working on a new Spanish story.

The third and fourth grade performed a play about Cinco de Mayo.

Our May STEM project this month is to invent a new use for a pencil.
