February 16, 2018

This week we jumped rope in PE.

In Art we are making rockets.

In science we are learning about manatees.  They do not sleep, they just rest. We are going to adopt a manatee.  They are related to elephants.  They breathe out of their noses. Manatees are mammals. The babies nurse from the mother's armpit.  Manatees do not have front teeth,  they only have molars.
They do not have predators and they are harmless.

This week we switched reading groups.

We have STEM activities to do in our room.  We can read books about snowflakes and then try to make a 6 sided snowflake from a square and a circle.  We can also do a puzzle.

In Art many of us finished our paper dragon puppets.

In PE we were trying to keep balloons in the air.  We also played tag.

We had a special Morning Meeting on Tuesday to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr.

We wrote letters to the 8th graders to thank them for the monster stuffies.  We also wrote letters to Jan Brett.
